Meet the Inventor Dr. Farrell
The uresta® pessary was developed by Dr. Scott Farrell, a urogynecologist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with over 19 years experience treating women with urinary incontinence (view Dr. Farrell’s CV). Dr. Farrell recognized that there was a gap in the treatment options for women with stress incontinence and developed the uresta® pessary to fill this gap. The uresta® pessary set underwent testing for safety and effectiveness in a two-year prospective pilot study.
The study revealed that 76% of women, successfully fitted with the uresta® pessary, went on to use it for the 12-month study and beyond. The uresta® pessary significantly reduced incontinence by both objective and subjective measures (view American Journal article). Most of these women were extremely pleased by the effectiveness of the uresta® pessary and the ease of use (view testimonials).
