What is Urine Loss?

Urine loss, bladder leaking, also known medically as urinary incontinence is the involuntary loss of urine. There are three common types of urinary incontinence:

Stress incontinence (SUI) is the loss of small amounts of urine with physical activity like coughing, laughing, sneezing, or lifting heavy objects. SUI occurs when the pelvic floor muscles are weak. The stress in SUI refers to the stress or strain on the physiology – the body – not mental stress. The uresta® product was designed specifically to help with SUI.

Urge incontinence, typically referred to as overactive bladder, is an urgent need to pee where one can’t wait. It results in large amounts of urine loss. It can be caused by irritation from infection or caffeine or by an overactive bladder muscle.

Mixed incontinence is both stress and urge incontinence.
